Two Vehicles in One Move
Motocozy combines a balance bike and stroller in one compact vehicle. It lets a child enjoy active, independent mobility. When they get tired, it converts to stroller mode in seconds without tools.
Both modes share the same vehicle. Planbureau developed the concept, operating principle and industrial design. The project progressed through prototypes to a production-ready product.

When the Child Gets Tired
A balance bike gives young children freedom, but longer trips can leave them tired. Parents may then have to carry both the child and the bike. A stroller solves this, yet families often stop bringing one once a child can walk.
Two separate products increase bulk and luggage. The brief was therefore to combine active and passive mobility. Both had to fit into one compact product for everyday use.
No-Compromise Transformation
A balance bike and stroller demand different geometry, loads and safety requirements. Transformation had to be quick and tool-free. Neither mode could compromise the usability of the other.
Planbureau developed the mechanism through prototyping. The structure was optimised for weight, size and ergonomics. Serial manufacturability was part of the development from the outset.

Motocozy is built around a curved telescopic arm that carries the side wheels. The mechanism enables two modes within a single vehicle. Transformation is quick and requires no tools.
In active mode, the product works as a balance bike. When the child gets tired, it converts into a pushable stroller. The simple operating principle received international patent protection.
